 Appreciation

A favourite recreation of the visually handicapped has often been music and song. The SLFVH takes special care and attention to build up groups of blind musicians and establish a Federation Choir. Since 1989 our musical group has been actively performing at public and private functions. The performers are adept at both Oriental and Western Music and song. They have been under the direction of blind musical maestro, V. Hemapala Perera. In addition, individuals and smaller groups of musicians and singers also take on bookings.

Our Choir of visually handicapped signers have also made great strides since 1996. They are now assured of annual bookings to sing Christmas Carols at several leading Five star hotels, shopping malls, leading clubs and churches. We were fortunate to have obtained the services of one of Sri Lanka’s foremost Choir Masters, Mr. Robert Joseph.
